I actually don't know much about this artist, other than he is a very respected folk singer who has been at it for a long time. He was recommended to me by my friend and former intern, Meng Ren, who is from Beijing and is now an ethnomusicology scholar in America. Even if you don't understand what he is singing about, it is undeniably moving.
